In a world so given to fashion trends, where everything is standardized and cloned, where culture tends to become a commodity that is packaged and can be thrown away after due consumption, the Black Historical and Cultural Society of British Columbia would like, in a modest way, keep alive the memories of the Blacks that lived here and record the history of the elders among us, and promote what is authentic in the culture and heritage of the Black British Columbians.

We have developed a synthesis of History, Events and Advocacy that brings together our community in active participation to grow and transform the place we live into a reality by what living in a village, (Canada) the vision of the North Star (Canada) truly means.

This vision is based upon a state of being. This being is restoring a call to humanity, implimenting Historicism, Education, active participation in restorative justice based upon traditional, African cultural origins, exploring adapting means locally, Nationally, Internationally with groups that are envolved with addressing the issues of time.

We are in aggreement with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr." That the moral Arc of the Universe is long but it bends towards justice." With Rawanda with, the Sudan, the historic un partitioning of Africa, with the pandemic of aids in Africa and around the world, with poverty, and the scourge of war, we must ask ourselves if not now when? How do we know that one of the very children that is susceptable to aids might if given the time to live un malnourished have the cure?
